Frances Jean Johnson, 89, of Magnolia, AR died Monday, December 7, 2020 at Belvedere Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hot Springs, AR. Although, this was her final resting spot her beloved home was in Magnolia. Nanny, her most sacred namesake, was born in Bearden, AR on December 15, 1930. On July 10, 1948 Nanny married James Johnson her beloved husband of 69 years. At the time, she began her lifelong career as a wonderful homemaker. She was a Member of Central Baptist Church and an active member of her Sunday School class, a member of the Benevolence Committee, a member of L.L.L., and member of the Physiques Silver Sneakers. Nanny was fun-loving, up for a good bargain and a good time. She was great seamstress and cook. She enjoyed crafting and gardening. Nanny was a “doer” she had the gift of services and anyone she knew or met gained a treasure. Nanny was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Clara Mays. Her brothers, James Mays, Junior Mays, and her husband James P. Johnson. She is survived by sister Virginia Mays of Glendale, Washington and Bill Mays of Dallas, Texas. Her daughter Marty Black and the Late Doug Black of Hot Springs; son Jimmy Johnson and wife Wakie of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren Mandy White and husband Kevin of Hot Springs, Polly Garton and husband Travis of Fayetteville, Desiree Rudisill and husband Aaron of Tulsa, OK, Jeremiah Johnson and wife Jordan of Tulsa, OK, Rodney Black and wife Debbie of Fort Worth, TX. Great grandchildren Peyton, Preston, Presley Kate, and Price White of Hot Springs, Stella and Vivi Garton of Fayetteville; Blakely and Callen Rudisill of Tulsa, Jett and Josie Lue Johnson of Tulsa, OK; Hayden and Sloane Black of Fort Worth, TX. A graveside service will be Thursday, December 10 at 2:00 p.m. at Philadelphia Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia, AR with Dr. Mike Seabaugh and Bro. Steve Ford officiating. Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. at the gravesite. Pallbearers will be Callan Rudisill, Jeremiah Johnson, Kevin White, Preston White, Travis Garton and James Antoon The family requests memorial contributions are sent to Central Baptist Church, 207 West Union St., Magnolia, AR 71753.
