Frederick Reap Daniel
March 26, 1920 - February 2, 2020
Frederick Reap Daniel was born on March 26, 1920 in Waldo, Arkansas to Myra Reap and William Addison Daniel. He died on Feb. 2, 2020 at the Wentworth Place in Magnolia, just seven weeks shy of his 100th birthday. He was of the Baptist faith and was baptized in 1933 in the First Baptist Church in Waldo. He moved to Dallas in 1938 and married the love of his life Dorothy J. Taylor in 1944. They were married 45 wonderful years until her death in 1989. In the 1970s, Fred retired from Rockwell Collins Radio after 25 years and moved home to Waldo, where he purchased the home his dad built in 1925. Fred loved being back in Waldo and reconnecting with old friends. In his spare time he repaired watches, was an avid coin collector, and loved gardening. His house, with its broad porch and ancient shade trees, was the site of many family reunions, and wonderful memories were made there. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, sisters Virginia Mullen Frazier and Frankie Nell Taylor, and brothers William Addison Daniel and Charles Lowe Daniel. He is survived by his son, Jimmy Daniel, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Fred, whose roots go back to the earliest days of colonial America, will be laid to rest at a graveside service with Chaplain Luther Harris officiating on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Shiloh Cemetery, in the company of generations of his Daniel, Hunt, Crawford and McKissack ancestors. The family wishes to express gratitude to the nurses and staff at the Cottages of Wentworth for their compassionate care. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church, PO Box 385, Waldo, AR 71770 or to Life Touch Hospice, 2301 Champganolle, El Dorado, AR 71730 To sign the online guest book or to share a memory visit www.lewisfuneralhome.biz
