Laverta Warren Roberson, 96, of Magnolia, AR, peacefully passed away on August 20, 2018, at Dudneywood in Magnolia with her family by her side. Laverta was born to Richard and Zola Milner Warren on March 18, 1922, at Ware's Chapel, AR. She lived most of her life in the Atlanta Community. With a patio out her back door at Dudneywood, she was able to continue doing a thing she loved, growing beautiful flowers and plants with the help of her daughter, Johnette Basinger. The residents who lived there always enjoyed strolling outside by her apartment to see what new flowers were blooming. She also loved reading and until a few weeks before her death, was reading a "Happy Ending" book every day. Her husband of 71 years, John T. Roberson, passed away on Christmas Day, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her six sisters and one brother, and grandchildren, David Nash, Ellen Nash, William Basinger and one great granddaughter, Lindsey Nash. Mrs. Roberson loved her church, Hilltop Baptist Church, and especially her family. She is survived by her daughters, Wanda Dunavan (Phil) of Marion, AR, Nelda Blagrave (Bro. Ron) of Shreveport, LA, Peggy Lee (Lamar) and Johnette Basinger, all ofMagnolia. She is also blessed to have 18 grandchildren, Richard Nash(Vickie), Tonya Reeves (Randy), Scott Pharr, Tamra Hooser (Brian), Carole Yates (Jimmy), Lisa Perry (David), Ann Baker (Allan), Amy Ussery (Jody) Kim Coker (Chris), Keynon Basinger(Amy), Shirley Basinger, James Basinger(Patricia), Kelly Basinger (Rhonda), Fay Cervates (Omar), and John Basinger. She also has 35 great grandchildren and 23 great, great-grandchildren with 3 more babies due this year. Funeral service will be held at Lewis Funeral Home on Friday, August 24, 2018, with visitation at 1:00PM and the service to follow at 2:00PM. Bro. Ron Blagrave, Robbie Rogers and Lisa Perry will be a part of the services. A private burial will be held at the Atlanta Baptist Church Cemetery. The family wishes to humbly thank all the wonderful workers, residents and caregivers that helped to make Mama's stay at Dudneywood an enjoyable experience. Honorary Pallbearers will be family members.
