Margret Keith Hix

September 23, 1934 - January 12, 2021

Margret Ruth (Keith) Hix, 86, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Magnolia, Arkansas. Margret was born September 23, 1934 in the Sharman Community in Columbia County, Arkansas to the late Harry Jones Keith and Elizabeth Francis (Atkinson) Keith. She was a member of Unity United Methodist Church and a retired Counselor from Irving ISD where she taught elementary school, then led the early childhood counseling program for the Irving Independent School District. She and her husband, Robert, moved from Irving, TX to the Bussey-Sharman Community after early retirement and became actively involved in Columbia County. Margret is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert L Hix; brother, James ‘Jim’ Keith; and brother-in-law, Carl Calender. Margret is survived by two sons, Keith Hix of Anthony, Kansas, and Brian Hix and wife Sherry (Longino) of Plano, TX; grandchildren Hannah Bridges and husband, Jared of Fayetteville, AR, Ryan Hix and wife Alison of Maumelle, AR, Christopher Hix of Plano, TX and Parker Hix of Richardson, TX; great grandchildren Liv, Norah and Jude Bridges of Fayetteville, and Bear Hix of Maumelle, AR. Margret is also survived by two sisters, Janas Calender of Marietta, GA, and Mary Atkins and husband Don Atkins of Magnolia, as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial graveside services will be Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Sharman Cemetery on Columbia Rd 1 near Taylor AR 71681 with Rev. Carol Moore officiating and under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home.
